Most Improved (Defense): Harrison Phillips

On the defensive side of the ball, no player has improved more this season than Harrison Phillips. The former third round pick seemed like he almost certainly was not going to be back after the season after an up and down start to his career.

However, the way he finished the season it seems like the Buffalo Bills can’t afford to let him leave. Phillips has dealt with a number of knee injuries over the past few seasons and he seemed to get back to full health midway through the season.

He would respond with 36 total tackles in the final eight games with a sack, four QB hits, and one forced fumble. Phillips also surpassed Star Lotulelei on the depth chart and was clearly the starting defensive tackle next to Ed Oliver.

The Buffalo Bills likely will be competing with other teams to sign Harrison Phillips but if the two sides can agree on a contract, the defense would certainly benefit from Phillips returning to Buffalo in 2022.
