Buffalo Bills Pass Rush vs Patrick Mahomes

In last year’s AFC championship game, the Bills were only able to register three pressures of Patrick Mahomes and only sacked him once for a loss of zero yards. The lack of pressure gave Mahomes plenty of time to run around and find Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, who are nearly impossible to cover for longer than 4 seconds.

On top of their additions on the edge, the Bills have also improved on the interior of the defensive line by getting some breakout performances from returning players. They have started using Star Lotulelei as a situational pass rusher, and he bull-rushed Mac Jones last week. In addition, Harrison Phillips is finally starting to look healthy, and he and Ed Oliver have caused havoc for opposing offensive lines all season.

The Chiefs have good players on their interior offensive line with Creed Humphrey and Joe Thuney. Still, the Bills registered 11 pressures of Patrick Mahomes during their 38-20 victory in Arrowhead earlier this season. The Bills know that this is the recipe for success against this team which is why they have invested so heavily in their pass rush the last couple of seasons. It will be up to the players to reward that investment and get this Bills team back to the AFC championship.
