Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Top storylines in Divisional Round
Will Sean McDermott remain aggressive with his play-calling?
One of the biggest criticisms coming out of the AFC Championship Game was Sean McDermott’s hesitancy to go for in the red zone and settle for two field goals. He did that again this year with Tyler Bass making a 30-yard field that put the Bills up 17-10.
The Buffalo Bills’ head coach has been very conservative at times this year with his play-calling but during their five-game win streak that hasn’t been the case. The Bills have been going for it more on fourth down and McDermott has been putting the ball in his best player’s hand and trusting he can make the play.
The results have been good and Allen more times than not has been able to get the first down or touchdown.
However, it will be interesting to see if McDermott is able to continue with this aggressive approach. It is somewhat easier going for it against teams like the Patriots and Panthers because they don’t have the explosive offense that the Chiefs do.

If the Bills were unable to pick up the fourth, there is a good chance the defense could hold and not give up any points. This isn’t necessarily the case against Kansas City and this game will really test this new approach for the Bills’ head coach.
