Buffalo Bills host their second consecutive Wild Card game against division foe, New England Patriots, in Highmark Stadium for the chance to advance to the Divisional Round

It’s been a long time since the stakes have been this high between these two teams. On Saturday, the Buffalo Bills welcome the New England Patriots to town, led by Bill Belichick and rookie quarterback, Mac Jones.

For the last 20 years, Buffalo has been the little brother to New England. In fact, from 2001-2019, former Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, went 32-3 against the Bills. Not much of a rivalry to speak of. But in recent years, the Bills have come roaring back from the abyss. In Josh Allen’s short career in Buffalo, he is 3-4 against the Patriots, including a sweep of the rivals just a season ago.

The Patriots have had a great season considering its circumstances. Rookie quarterbacks typically experience growing pains upon entering the league. Mac Jones certainly has his to speak of, but what’s even more impressive is the coaching job demonstrated by Belichick. Just last season, the Patriots were a seven-win football team with a veteran quarterback. This season, they won 10 games and their reward is traveling to Buffalo to face the red hot Buffalo Bills.

Although the Bills won the AFC East, the playoffs mean a little more than a division title, especially against this opponent. New England has owned the Bills over the past two decades and now Buffalo has a chance to reclaim its throne by sending the Patriots packing. Here’s how to watch and a few final thoughts ahead of this Wild Card matchup.
