Buffalo Bills LB Tyrel Dodson

The final player would be linebacker Tyrel Dodson, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019. It wasn’t until last year that he made an impact with this defense and started two of the first five games in 2020 due to injuries at the position.

He played well during those games with 15 total tackles and two passes defended. This season he hasn’t had a chance to start but has been key backup at the position.

During training camp last year, Leslie Frazier was asked about Dodson and he mentioned how smart he is at the position. He also had spent time at middle linebacker learning that position but Frazier noted he could play any of the linebacker spots.

That versatility, along with the understanding of the playbook, would likely be appealing for Frazier as he tries to implement his scheme with his new team.
