There are a number of teams that rely on the run game and if the Buffalo Bills want to make a deep playoff run it will have to involve shutting down a good run game at some point.

The Colts are still fighting for a playoff spot but have the best running back this year Jonathan Taylor, who ran for 185 rushing yards and four touchdowns when he played the Bills. The Chargers and Raiders are also fighting for a spot and have good running backs in Austin Ekeler and Josh Jacobs.

The Titans have locked up a playoff berth and reportedly could be getting Derrick Henry back for the playoffs. The Patriots are also heading back to the playoffs and have one of the more run-heavy offenses in the league.

The Buffalo Bills ability to shut down opposing running backs is going to be important and defensive tackle Harrison Phillips will play a big part. The fourth-year player appears to have become the starter and is playing some of the best football of his career currently.

If Harrison Phillips can win in the trenches, it is going to be a big boost for this defense and should set them up for success.
