Buffalo Bills can clinch a playoff spot but not AFC East
Even with a win and Patriots loss, the Buffalo Bills would not be able to lock up the AFC East this week. Sal Capaccio of WGR550 tweeted out why and it is due in large part to the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots playing divisional opponents in the final game of the regular season with the Bills facing the Jets and the Patriots facing the Dolphins.
Reason Bills can’t clinch AFCE this weekend is because even if they win and Pats lose, NE could still catch them week 18 in both division record and common opponents, which are next two tiebreakers. Then would go to conference record and Pats would have it. https://t.co/VN90s1HUPi

However, a win on Sunday would allow the Buffalo Bills to clinch their third straight playoff appearance and fourth in the past five years. Both scenarios involve a Buffalo Bills win on Sunday and would need to be accompanied by either a Baltimore Ravens loss to the Los Angeles Rams or losses by both the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.
