Micah Hyde

One of the cornerstones of this Buffalo Bills defense is their safety duo of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. These were two of the first free agents the Bills brought in after Sean McDermott took over as head coach and have developed into one of the best safety tandems in the NFL.

On Sunday, it was Micah Hyde who made his presence known with not one but two interceptions against the Patriots. This was only his second career game with two interceptions in one game, with the first game coming in Week 4 of the 2017 season, his first with the Bills.

This secondary suffered a big loss on Thanksgiving night when Tre’Davious White suffered a season-ending knee injury. However, they haven’t really lost a step even with the inexperience of Dane Jackson starting in place of White.

The reason is the experience of Hyde and Poyer that has helped keep this group together. On Sunday, Hyde made the impact plays with the turnovers but he is a steady presence on this defense and a big reason they are one of the best defenses in the NFL.
