How will the Bills manage Josh Allen after suffering a sprained foot injury?

Josh Allen is a gifted athlete. His arm strength, speed, and play-making abilities are elite and drive Buffalo’s offensive scheme. However, the injury to Allen’s foot, which he suffered last week in Tampa, could have a substantial impact on his dual-threat ability.

Allen’s mobility has been the key to Buffalo’s success on offense. When he is outside the pocket, he is as dangerous as it gets at his position. He is even more of a nightmare for defenses on designed quarterback runs.

If Allen is at all limited by his foot, it will be interesting to see how the Bills use his available assets to move the ball on an impressive Carolina defense.

The Panthers are one of the stingiest defenses in the league in terms of yards given up. They are a smaller unit, but what they lack in size, they make up for in speed. This would be a game where the Bills rely on its offensive line to push around the slighter Panther front. But Buffalo’s offensive line has been inadequate in the run game this season.

Allen’s running ability is extremely effective. It causes defenders to stick to their keys in the event he decides to pull the ball down. Candidly, he’s been the Bills’ best option in the run game.

Josh Allen didn’t have an injury designation on Friday which is a very positive sign and all indications are that he is playing in Week 15. And it would behoove the Bills to be careful with Allen to keep him healthy heading into the postseason.
