Buffalo Bills add depth with final three picks in the 2022 NFL Draft

With one pick in the sixth round, and two in the seventh the Buffalo Bills close out the 2022 NFL Draft addressing depth at some key positions in this mock draft. In the sixth round, the Buffalo Bills select cornerback Sevyn Banks out of Ohio State.

Banks has only been able to play four games this year and it wouldn’t be surprising if he returns to Ohio State next year to try and help his draft stock. However, for this mock draft, the Bills get a development cornerback that could potentially compete for a starting spot down the road.

Then with their first pick in the seventh round (229 overall), the Bills select wide receiver Chris Autman-Bell out of the University of Minnesota. The wide receiver position could look very different next year with Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie both set to be free agents and adding a wide receiver late could make sense for this team.

The final pick for the Bills (234 overall), general manager Brandon Beane solidifies the linebacker position with the selection of Jordan Strachan out of South Carolina. He played his first three years at Georgia State before transferring to South Carolina before 2021.

At first glance, he may not be a perfect fit for this defense and could potentially be better served in a 3-4 defense. However, at 250 pounds the coaching staff could use Strachan as a pass rush specialist similar to a role Lorenzo Alexander played from 2017-2019.
