Cole Beasley

The Buffalo Bills made a number of significant changes in their offensive game plan against the Bucs, with the most notable being running the ball more with Josh Allen. However, another change was incorporating more short passes and getting the ball out of Allen’s hands quicker.

This is where Cole Beasley comes into play as he had nine receptions, 11 targets, and 64 receiving yards in Week 14 against the Bucs and was one of his best games of the season. He helped keep this offense on the field with three of those nine receptions going for first downs.

One of the changes was the Bills shortened the routes that Cole Beasley was running as he had one of his lowest ADOT (average depth of target) of the season at only 3.9 yards. However, they were getting it to him in space that allowed him to pick up yards after the catch with 33 of his 64 receiving yards coming after the catch.

If the Buffalo Bills are not going to run the ball traditionally with a running back like Devin Singletary, these are the types of plays that can serve as a run game. When considering the Panthers’ pass rushers, and the success from last week, I expect Cole Beasley to be involved heavily in this offense once again.
