ESPN: Buffalo Bills ranked in the Top 7 in offense, defense, and special teams
Current Week’s Ranking: 9
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
The Buffalo Bills moved down one spot in the power rankings on ESPN and remain just inside the Top 10 at ninth overall. This week’s edition listed the FPI rankings for offense, defense, and special teams for each team and the Bills ranked very high in these metrics:
"Offense: 7 Defense: 2 Special teams: 1 The Bills’ numbers reflect a frustrating trend for a team that has performed well in all three phases at various times of the season but has fallen just short in too many games, especially on the defensive side of the ball."
Alaina Getzenberg is right to describe the season as frustrating. This is a talented team that just hasn’t been able to put everything together at times. This year, the Bills either win in a definitive fashion or lose heartbreakers as they are 0-5 in one-score games.
The big surprise here though is that special teams rank first in the NFL. While Tyler Bass has been great, Matt Haack has been up and down in his first year with the Buffalo Bills. However, he has played better as of late and this could hopefully indicate a positive trend for the remainder of the year.
