Matt Milano

The past two weeks, Matt Milano has shown the ability to give this defense a big play when they desperately need it. In Week 13, the Patriots were driving down the field in the second half and got into the red zone and looked like they were going to score a touchdown and put the game out of reach.

However, Milano responded with two tackles for a loss on consecutive plays that pushed the Patriots back eight yards. They were forced to settle for a field goal that kept it a four point game.

Then on Sunday, the Bucs were trying to run the clock out to secure the win and on third down near midfield, Milano was called for holding. Fortunately, the Bucs also were called for a penalty that offset and they replayed third down.

It was Milano once again who made the big play with a sack on Tom Brady on the very next play that forced a punt and gave the Bills time to drive down the field for a field goal and force it to overtime.

This past season it was assumed that they wouldn’t be able to keep Matt Milano, who was one of the top free agents. However, they were able to strike a deal that kept him in Buffalo and this defense has benefited tremendously from him returning.
