Dane Jackson

The Buffalo Bills defense was going up against one of the best passing offenses in the NFL and unfortunately were doing it without their All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White. Even with White, this was going to be a tall task for this secondary.

However, Dane Jackson stepped in and did an excellent job in only his fourth career start in the NFL. While he did get called for two penalties, he also had two excellent pass breakups and nearly had a big interception in the red zone.

The area that he stood out the most was his ability to support in the run and not be afraid to make a tackle. He finished the game with seven total tackles, including a few in the open field that wasn’t necessarily easy.

When looking at the remainder of the schedule, there is a case to be made that Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are the two toughest wide receivers the Bills will see the remainder of the season. The play of Dane Jackson should give fans confidence that this secondary can keep it together even without their star cornerback.
