Buffalo Bills provide injury updates for Josh Allen, Emmanuel Sanders

The Buffalo Bills came out of Week 14 with a loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs but also saw some key players on the offensive side of the ball leave the weekend with injuries. On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott provided injury updates on quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Josh Allen considered day-to-day with a foot injury

Against the Tampa Bay Bucs, Josh Allen had probably the best game of his career with over 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns. While it wasn’t enough to get the Bills the win, there is no one who can question Allen’s effort to try and will his team to the victory.

However, in the second half on one of the Buffalo Bills quarterback 12 rushing attempts, he was tackled by the Bucs and the defender landed on his legs. He would suffer a leg injury that didn’t have him miss any snaps but he was seen after the game in a walking boot.

The good news is that the injury doesn’t seem to be too serious and McDermott said Josh Allen is  ‘day-to-day’ with a foot injury.

This could likely indicate that Josh Allen will be limited or practice very little during the week but has a good chance of playing on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Buffalo Bills are likely to be without Emmanuel Sanders in Week 15

The news for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders wasn’t as positive, who suffered a knee injury against the Bucs. He was forced to leave the game and didn’t return.

McDermott described Sanders’ injury as week-to-week and was unlikely to play against the Panthers, as Sal Capaccio tweeted.

The veteran wide receiver has played in every game in his first season with the Bills and played 77% of the offensive snaps. However, if he is going to miss time the offense will likely turn to Gabriel Davis, who had a really good game and made a key play on the final drive that allowed the Bills to tie the game and force overtime.
