The Buffalo Bills ruled two players out for Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buffalo Bills are preparing to face one of the toughest opponents on their 2021 schedule and will be without one of their starters on the defensive side of the ball. Star Lotulelei, who just returned last week after missing three games due to being on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, will miss this weekend’s game due to a toe injury, according to the team’s injury report.
Lotulelei had started the week practicing on a limited basis but did not practice Thursday and Friday. According to Heather Prusak, head coach Sean McDermott said:
"“I know he’s frustrated and sometimes you have those seasons where things come up more than other seasons.”"
This will be the fifth game Lotulelei misses this season as he missed Week 1 due to an injury in addition to the games missed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
In addition to Lotulelei, the Buffalo Bills also ruled out Tommy Sweeney with a hip injury. Sweeney has primarily been a backup for the Bills and the team will likely call up either Kahale Warring or Quintin Morris from the practice squad.
However, one positive is that defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who was a surprise addition to the injury report yesterday did practice in full on Friday and doesn’t have an injury designation for this game.
Buffalo Bills have two players listed as questionable for Week 14
In addition to the two players ruled out, the Buffalo Bills listed defensive end Efe Obada and fullback Reggie Gilliam as questionable. This is the second straight week that both players have been listed as questionable and they were inactive for Week 13 against the New England Patriots.
Both players were limited on Wednesday and Thursday before getting in a full practice on Friday. This is a good sign about their potential availability on Sunday.
Buffalo Bills have until Saturday afternoon to activate Jon Feliciano
One name to watch over the weekend is Jon Feliciano, who still remains on the injury report. The Bills opened his practice window last week but he was not activated before the Patriots game.
The team will have until Saturday afternoon to activate him to ensure he is available for this game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
