The Buffalo Bills offensive line does not have the push to win in the trenches for a traditional run game. General manager Brandon Beane found offensive linemen who are stronger in pass protection, which makes sense when you have a quarterback like Josh Allen and the wide receivers they do.

This means that offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will want to pass more but can’t abandon the run completely. It is going to require him to get creative to try and present at least some threat of a run game to keep defenses honest.

This is in line with the first point and that is to put the ball in Josh Allen’s hands and call more run plays. While this is not ideal for your franchise quarterback to take extra hits, the threat of Allen running could actually help him. If defenses need to account for Allen running more frequently, defenders are going to keep an eye in the backfield.

As soon as Allen gets outside the pocket, it is going to cause them to freeze for a moment to potentially stop the run. This can open up more passing windows and big plays in the passing game that has been lacking at times this year.
