NFL.com: Buffalo Bills’ toughness continues to come into question

Current Week’s Ranking: 7

Last Week’s Ranking: 6

Similar to CBS Sports, the Buffalo Bills dropped only one spot in the NFL.com’s power rankings by Dan Hanzus, who raises a question that has been discussed somewhat frequently as of late:

"A challenging Bills season reached new levels of frustration on Monday Night Football in the swirling winds of Orchard Park. The Patriots proved themselves to be the more physical team, repeatedly winning at the line of scrimmage even when the whole stadium knew Mac Jones’ primary job was to turn around and hand the ball off."

The Buffalo Bills have shown over the past few weeks that they struggle in the trenches against teams that just want to grind it out on the ground. It was a game plan the Colts were successful with as Carson Wentz threw for just over 100 passing yards while their run game went for over 200 yards.

On Monday night, Mac Jones only needed three pass attempts because the Patriots continually won on first and second down to give them a manageable third down that allowed them to still run the ball.

It is hard to imagine this is something that is going to change any time soon and the only way to fix it is if the Bills’ offense can start jumping out to early leads that require the opponent to abandon the run.
