Marquez Stevenson
Of the Buffalo Bills’ 10 drives, they had none start inside their own 25-yard line. This is a testament to the defense not really giving up much of anything but also the play of Marquez Stevenson, who in his first career game had five punt returns.
While he did mishandle one of the punts, and this will need to be a point of emphasis for the coaching staff, he looked really good in his first game. In four of his five punt returns, he was able to return the ball nine or more yards, including an 18-yard return in the second half.
The move to start Marquez Stevenson over Isaiah McKenzie, who hasn’t necessarily been bad this year, was a gamble for the coaching staff. However, it appears it has paid off and Stevenson should remain the primary returner moving forward.
