The Buffalo Bills are signaling that there is going to be significant changes at the run game this week against the New Orleans Saints. For the first time since Week 1, second-year running back Zack Moss is going to be inactive.

He is in fact a healthy scratch this week and this now creates more opportunities for Matt Breida, who has played well in limited snaps the past two weeks. He is going to be joined in the backfield by Devin Singletary and it will be interesting to see how the workload is split between the two.

Another notable change is going to be on special teams as Isaiah McKenzie, who has been the primary returner for the Bills this year is also a healthy scratch. He is going to be replaced by rookie Marquez Stevenson.

The sixth round pick has been on injured reserve since the start of the season but returned to practice this week and was activated earlier today.

Buffalo Bills add some size on their defensive line

On the defensive side of the ball, the Buffalo Bills could be making some changes along their defensive line with Eli Ankou and Brandin Bryant both active for today’s game against the Saints.

The Bills defense did not put much of a fight against the run game last week against the Indianapolis Colts so activating Ankou and Bryant seems to be in direct response to this with Star Lotulelei still out after being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19.

The Bills also have Vernon Butler inactive this week after he has played significant snaps the past two weeks but has not played well during that stretch.

The defense also will be getting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds back this week. He has missed the past two games due to a hamstring injury but with a full week of practice and no injury designation, he is set to go today.
