Buffalo Bills need at least the threat of a run game

There is no question that the Buffalo Bills have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL in Josh Allen. He is a player that can put the offense on his back and take a game over with his arm.

However, he can’t do it alone and the Bills need to make sure that they at least force the defense to account for the run, even if it isn’t going to be a big part of this offense. This past week against the New York Jets is a perfect example as Devin Singletary, Zack Moss and Matt Breida only had 17 rushing attempts.

The Bills trio of running backs though were effective with those attempts and averaged over five yards a carry. This forced the defense to respect the run game and it helped open up the rest of the offense.

As long as Brian Daboll doesn’t abandon the run entirely, the offense should be able to play at the high level they have shown at times over the past two years.
