Dawson Knox shows he is a starting tight end in this offense

Entering this season, the tight end position looked to be one of the big questions on this offense. During the first two years in the league, Dawson Knox has shown some flashes but hasn’t been a consistent contributor.

This opened the door to plenty of rumors, like a potential Zach Ertz trade, but the Buffalo Bills stayed the course and clearly saw something in Dawson Knox this offseason. Well, they were rewarded for their confidence in him and he has had a breakout season.

He already has career highs in receiving yards (303) and receiving touchdowns (5) in only seven games. Those five touchdowns also are good enough to lead the team at the midpoint of the season. One of his biggest areas of improvement has been in drops with only one on 28 targets and has seen his drop rate go from 20% as a rookie down to 3.4% this year.

Expect the third-year tight end to remain a big part of this Buffalo Bills offense over the second half of the 2021 season.
