Season-high snaps: 19

This season, Isaiah McKenzie has not been as big of a part of this offense as he was the previous two seasons. This could be due to McKenzie seeing an expanded role as the team’s primary returner on kickoffs and punts and the Bills wanting to manage his workload. It could also be due to the addition of Emmanuel Sanders and McKenzie just moving down the depth chart.

Regardless of the reason, this would be a great week to get the speedy wide receiver back into the offensive game plan. One of the reasons is that the Buffalo Bills don’t have that top-level speed currently at the position that can get over the top of defenses. While players like Sanders, and Stefon Diggs, have made big plays downfield they don’t necessarily have the speed that scares defenses.

The other reason is that McKenzie can be used behind the line of scrimmage with jet sweeps and those plays that force defenses to spread out and play sideline to sideline. If the Bills fake sweeps to McKenzie and then run the ball, that split second where defenders hesitate can really help open up the field for the run game.
