Isaiah Spiller, Texas A&M

Measurables: 6’1″, 215 lbs.

Pro Comp: Jonathon Taylor

Draft Projection: Round 1-2

Isaiah Spiller has been the workhorse back for Texas A&M for all three years he has played in College Station. Spiller has never averaged less than five yards per carry in a season, and outside of his annual poor showing against Alabama, Spiller has been killing SEC defenses.

While some may scoff at the lack of success he has had against arguably the most successful college football dynasty ever, there is no reason to worry. Spiller’s consistency against other SEC foes is enough to warrant a late 1st round or early second-round selection.

The SEC has easily the strongest competition that Spiller could face in college football. So his performance against one team does not tell the whole story. Spiller has six 100+ yard games this season and has averaged under over five yards per carry in seven contests.

Spiller has very quick burst in his first 10 yards in addition to some of the best vision amongst backs in this year’s draft class.

Spiller may lack the same breakaway speed that Buffalo lacks in their backfield right now, but his power, vision, and quickness will make for a much stronger and more consistent running back than what Buffalo can currently deploy.

While Spiller does not have a strong pass catching resume in terms of receptions or yards, he is one of three running backs in college football who hold a rushing and receiving PFF grade of over 80.
