After a tough first half, Josh Allen was able to settle down in the second half and help lead the Buffalo Bills to a win over the Dolphins.

In fact, the Bills had one of their worst offensive first halves in recent memory. In the first 30 minutes of the game, the mighty Bills offense only mustered 3 points and five first downs against a statistically porous defense. The passing game struggled mightily, and the Bills would’ve entered the half being shutout if it wasn’t for Tyler Bass connecting on a 57-yard field goal.

After the game, Josh Allen opened up about his struggles and the lack of offensive execution in the first half, as Ashly Holder with WGRZ tweeted:

"“I’ve known this for a long time, I don’t play good when I’m pissed off and frustrated, and I think that was maybe causing some issues early on, to that second half just trying to find inner peace where I can go out there and relax.”"

Josh credited the inspiration for his Halloween costume, legendary golfer for Phil Mickelson, for some motivational words that helped Josh and the Bills offense in the second half of the game.

"“[Mickelson] had a chance to talk to us earlier on in this year, and he talked about finding kinda like your zen.”"

The short pass game helped Josh Allen settle down in the second half

I’m not sure exactly what it means to find your inner zen, but whatever QB1 tapped into in the second half, it was a welcome sign for Bills fans. The deadly short passing game returned, and Allen led the Bills on three back-breaking touchdown drives to put the game away in the second half.

The Bills struggled to pick up Miami blitzes in the first half, but a second-half adjustment to a short and lethal passing attack flipped the game into the Bills favor. The Bills stopped letting the Dolphins pass rush dictate the game and started dictating the play on their terms.

For the first time this year, Cole Beasley was unleashed, and he found holes in every level of the Miami zone defense in the second half. Beasley finished his day with a season-high ten catches for 110 yards.

Despite being frustrated early on, Josh Allen did a good job not forcing the issue, and the Bills punted their way through the first half. However, the defense really did a terrific job to keep Buffalo in the game. The group stymied Jaylen Waddle to just 29 yards on 12 targets. In addition, they did a good job capitalizing on an opportunity when they dove on an errant Miami snap deep in Bills territory.

The Bills had star performances at every level of the defense, and Ed Oliver, Matt Milano, and Jordan Poyer had extremely disruptive performances. Tua Tagovailoa never looked comfortable and there were multiple Bills defenders in the areas of his throws all game long.

After securing the win for the Bills, Allen let out some of those frustrations when he waved Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins off the field.

Despite the struggles the outcomes was never really in doubt and the Bills pulled off a 26-11 win to beat the Dolphins for the seventh time in a row. The Bills will be back on the field next week against another one win opponent, when they travel to Florida to play the Jaguars.
