4. Matthew Stafford, QB (Los Angeles Rams)

One of the big trades in the offseason was the Rams trading away Jared Goff and two first round picks to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford. The thought was that Stafford was a good quarterback but the Lions struggled to build a competitive roster around the franchise quarterback.

Since joining the Rams, that narrative has only been strengthened as Stafford is having a career year playing in Sean McVay’s offense with players like Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. He currently ranks third in the NFL in passing yards (2,172), second in passing touchdowns (19), and only four interceptions.

The Rams are looking like a Super Bowl contender and one of the top teams in the NFC with a 6-1 record, which also includes a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This was the first week Stafford was in these rankings and he should be in the MVP discussion for the rest of the season with the way he has played.
