Buffalo Bills elevate a player from the practice squad

If the Bills elect to just replace Knox with Tommy Sweeney, they would need to make an additional move for the tight end position. The reason is that Sweeney would be the only healthy tight end listed on the 53-man roster.

They would still have Reggie Gilliam, who is currently a fullback but did play tight end last year for this team. However, even with Gilliam as the backup, the depth is still questionable and bringing one of their tight ends up from the practice squad would make sense.

The team currently has two tight ends on their practice squad in Quintin Morris and Kahale Warring, with Warring probably the most likely candidate. Quintin Morris was an undrafted free agent addition this offseason out of Bowling Green. While he is very athletic, at this point in his career it might be too soon to expect him to contribute.

As for Kahale Warring, he was a third round pick by the Houston Texans the same year as Knox and Sweeney but has bounced around over the past two seasons between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts before joining the Bills practice squad.

He has a little more experience after appearing in seven games last year with the Texans. This would be the player that would make the most sense to bring up to backup Tommy Sweeney if they go this route.
