5. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)
While Josh Allen’s performance was impressive on Sunday night, Baltimore Ravens quarterback raised the bar even more with his play on Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts. He would finish the game with over 500 total yards (442 passing yards, 62 rushing) and four touchdowns as he helped the Ravens make an incredible comeback in overtime with a 31-25 win.
Lamar Jackson has had a similar season to Josh Allen in terms of starting the year off slow but has been playing at a very high level recently. He has now had two consecutive games with over 300 yards passing and threw five touchdown and no interceptions during that stretch (compared to three touchdowns, three interceptions in the first three games).
While this is an individual award, team success certainly plays a factor and with the Ravens now at 4-1, their starting quarterback is back in the MVP discussion.
