CB Cam Lewis

Cam Lewis is a name Buffalo football fans have heard before, which made it nice to see the 24-year-old step up and have a solid performance on Sunday,

A former student and star defensive back at the University of Buffalo, Lewis was tasked with handling Houston’s Anthony Miller in the slot and he excelled in the role.

Miller saw five targets come his way on Sunday, but the former Chicago Bears wideout hauled in just one of those for three yards while mainly facing off against Lewis in coverage. The corner also tacked on a forced fumble, three solo, and five combined tackles.

This was Lewis’ first appearance for Buffalo this season as he filled in for the injured Taron Johnson, but it was an outing that he and the team should be encouraged by. Of course, due to the rain and opponent, it’s hard to get a proper gauge at exactly where Lewis is in his development, but he didn’t emerge as a weak spot on the Bills’ defense in the contest.

Lewis dressed in five games for Buffalo last season and recorded seven tackles.
