This is the fourth entry into the 2021 Josh Allen Game Grades series. Each week, Josh Allen’s numbers, decision-making, and overall performance will be reviewed and given a letter grade.
In Week 4, the Buffalo Bills absolutely rolled the Houston Texans 40-0. After some early struggles, the offense found a nice rhythm while the defense had a field day.
Josh Allen’s stat line on the day was fine. He completed 20 of 29 passes for 248 yards, two touchdown passes, and an interception.
Allen’s efficiency improved again in his Week 4 performance. He averaged 8.5 yards per pass attempt, up from the 8.3 yards an attempt he averaged in Week 3. Allen took what the defense gave him after early first-quarter struggles.
The passing game found a really good rhythm in the second half. The first two drives of the half both went 11 plays, lasted over six minutes, and resulted in a field goal and touchdown.
Josh Allen’s decision-making was worse than it was a week ago. Allen was intercepted on his first pass attempt of the game. After getting picked off on his first throw, Allen’s decision-making was good for the rest of the game.
Allen generally looked comfortable against Houston. He and Stefon Diggs finally rekindled their electrifying connection in Week 4. They connected on seven passes for 114 yards.
Josh Allen’s Game Grade from Week 4: B
Josh Allen receives a B grade for his performance in Week 4. Allen did not set the world on fire against the Texans however, he was solid and efficient.
He wasn’t red hot, but he didn’t need to be due to the efforts of the defense. He will need to be at his absolute best next week when the Bills head to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game.
