Josh Allen faces off against his first QB coach

When Josh Allen takes the field on Sunday he will see a familiar face on the opposite sideline in David Culley. The first-year Texans’ head coach actually spent some time in Buffalo and was Sean McDermott’s first QB coach in 2017 and 2018.

That 2018 season was also Josh Allen’s rookie season which made David Culley his first QB coach with the Bills. It would make sense that Culley would be asked about Josh Allen and he was complimentary of the Bills quarterback:

"“I know when I had him as a rookie you know he has everything you wanted. I am not surprised that he’s where he is at right now.”"

He went on to describe Josh Allen as the total package speaking to his ability to run but also make every throw a team would want from their quarterback.

While this won’t be the first time Culley is on the opposite sideline (he was an associate head coach for the Baltimore Ravens last season) this will be the first time as head coach and will get to see just how much Allen has improved since his rookie season.
