5 Buffalo Bills who helped dominate the Miami Dolphins in Week 2
WLB Matt Milano
As per usual, Matt Milano was all over the field for the Bills. Making plays both on the ball and off of it, Milano proved to be a game-breaking presence against the Dolphins.
In the game, the 27-year-old totaled five tackles, including two tackles for a loss, recovered a fumble in the red zone, tacked on two QB hits, a sack, and allowed just a 42.4 passer rating when targeted, proving he’s still one of the better coverage linebackers in the league.
Milano inked a four-year, $41,500,000 contract with Buffalo this offseason and has been worth every penny in the early portion of the 2021 season.
CB Taron Johnson
Serving as the Bills’ slot corner in the contest, Taron Johnson’s main assignment was handling explosive Dolphins first-round receiver, Jaylen Waddle.
While squaring off against a player as dynamic as Waddle, someone who’s capable of breaking a game open, Johnson did an excellent job in preventing that from happening. The speedy rookie totaled six receptions for only 48 yards in the contest, numbers that any opposing defensive back will happily take in that matchup.
Johnson was also the one who forced the fumble on Miami receiver Jakeem Grant, which ultimately led to Milano scooping up the loose ball. Additionally contributing one tackle for a loss and one sack, Johnson had an absolutely stellar Sunday afternoon.
