Cole Beasley
One of those players that can help Josh Allen in that short, intermediate range for the Bills’ passing attack is slot receiver Cole Beasley. Last year, was a career year for Beasley and he was the only other receiver outside of Stefon Diggs to surpass 100 targets.
If he didn’t suffer a leg injury in Week 16, he would have almost certainly surpassed 1,000 receiving yards and joined Diggs in breaking that mark.
Last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Beasley once again was a big part of the gameplan as he had eight receptions on 13 targets for 60 yards.
However, the 7.5 yards per reception was well below last season’s average of 11.8 yards per reception. One of the reasons was Beasley wasn’t running as deep of routes with an average depth of target of only 4.5 yards which was well below the 7.8 average last year, according to Pro Football Reference.
The Buffalo Bills need to call more plays to run Beasley just a little deeper that puts him in a position to pick up first downs and move the chains against the Miami Dolphins.
