The Buffalo Bills starting quarterback looked sharp to start the game against the Green Bay Packers.

Whether or not the Buffalo Bills should be playing Josh Allen in their final preseason game is open for debate. However, there is no question that the starting quarterback looked great on the opening drive.

The Bills started the game with the ball and at their own 20 yard line. It was clear the coaching staff wanted to give Allen as much work as possible and he responded completing 10 of 11 passes for 90 passing yards. He moved the ball around by completing passes to five different players but the drive ended with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Gabriel Davis.

The only blemishes on the drive were an incomplete pass to Emmanuel Sanders and then a 10-yard sack where he tried to escape the pocket but slipped on the turf.

The performance of Josh Allen is not necessarily surprising as all reports have been that Allen has looked great in training camp. If there was any concern about the former first round pick, they can likely be erased after this drive.

While Josh Allen did have a breakout year last year with over 4,500 passing yards and 46 total touchdowns, the pressure is still on for him to play at a top level. The Buffalo Bills made a significant commitment to Allen this offseason with their six-year extension worth $258 million.

Fortunately for Josh Allen, he is set up in a position to continue the success of last year. The Bills have their offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll, back but also almost the entire starting offense. The biggest change is the Bills released John Brown but signed Emmanuel Sanders as a free agent.

However, the passing game will still run through Stefon Diggs who had a breakout year as well last year. The star wide receiver did not play in this game today as he is working his way back from a knee injury.
