Buffalo Bills: 53-man roster prediction after second round of cuts

Cornerback (5)

Starter: Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, Taron Johnson (Nickel)

Backup: Dane Jackson, Siran Neal (Nickel)

Cut: Nick McCloud, Cam Lewis, Rachad Wildgoose, Olaijah Griffin, Tim Harris

Just like most roster battles cornerback is another position where it is a numbers game more than anything. Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson are still competing for the spot opposite Tre’Davious White.

Taron Johnson is locked into the nickel corner position and although he gave up a huge touchdown against the Bears and has not looked amazing this camp I think that Siran Neal still has a slight edge over anyone else for the last corner spot. What helps Neal is the ability to play special teams and both slot and outside corner.

Both Nick McCloud and Cam Lewis are on the outside looking in but could force their way onto the roster with a really good showing in the last preseason game. Both players have excelled in camp and surprised many who thought Rachad Wildgoose would be a sleeper to make the team.

Wildgoose has not played horrible but has not been able to put together any days in camp or games where he stands out and shows he is significantly better than anyone on the roster. Lastly, Olaijah Griffin has been a good special teams player and mediocre coverage guy and Tim Harris just arrived in Buffalo and is not much more than a camp body.
