Buffalo Bills: 3 important preseason developments through two games
Buffalo Bills run game shows promise
On the offensive side of the ball, the focus this season should be improving the run game to the point that it can at least keep defenses honest and complement the excellent passing attack the Buffalo Bills have. If the first two preseason games are any indication, that certainly is possible.
The biggest bright spot has been running back Devin Singletary, who is looking like he did during his rookie season. In the game against the Lions, he had 42 rushing yards on eight carries and a six-yard receiving touchdown.
Then this past week, Singletary didn’t get nearly as much work with only two carries and one reception but still managed 26 yards from scrimmage, including a 14-yard rushing touchdown.
As for Zack Moss, he missed the first game against the Lions due to injury but returned for the game against the Bears. He also didn’t get a ton of carries but still averaged over five yards a carry with the four rushing attempts he had.
The Buffalo Bills are not going to be a run-dominant offense in 2021 but there will be times that the run game is going to be important. If the Bills are up in the fourth quarter and need to run the clock out, this is a time where the Bills will need a productive run game and if the preseason is any indication, they will have that.
