Another free agent addition that had a lackluster performance in his first preseason game was running back Matt Breida. He finished the game with 27 rushing yards on 10 attempts with two receptions for 15 receiving yards.

One of the reasons the addition of Breida made sense was because he brings a level of speed that Devin Singletary or Zack Moss has. He showed early in his career with the San Francisco 49ers that he was a big play waiting to happen.

However, he didn’t show that last season with the Miami Dolphins and was passed on the depth chart by Myles Gaskin. That carried over to the game against the Lions as his longest run was only eight yards and the longest reception was 10 yards.

The Bills should have Zack Moss available for this game, along with Devin Singletary, but the coaching staff should try to get Matt Breida enough work to make a decision if he should make the 53-man roster or if a younger player like Antonio Williams would make more sense.
