The Buffalo Bills are now a couple of weeks and one game into training camp and a lot has happened. Since the last roster prediction star QB Josh Allen has signed a massive contract extension that included the most guaranteed money in NFL history.
Buffalo also was forced to cut five players to comply with the first round of NFL roster cuts that brings the roster from 90 players to 85. Buffalo cut defensive tackle Eli Ankou, linebacker Mike Bell, as well as offensive linemen Caleb Benenoch, Marquel Harrell, and Syrus Tuitele. However, Buffalo’s roster remains at 86 players because of the International Exemption that Christian Wade holds.
In addition to the recent cuts since our previous roster prediction, Buffalo also played a preseason game in Detroit against the Lions. Although wins and losses do not matter in the preseason Buffalo was able to put together a game-winning drive and win on a 50-yard Tyler Bass field goal to beat the Lions 16-15.
We saw a very limited amount of starters and a large number of guys even did not play. This meant that we were able to see most of the bottom of the roster guys play and attempt to make enough plays to maybe squeeze onto the roster or the practice squad. Here are updated 53-man roster predictions after the first preseason game and roster cuts.
