Backup Wide Receiver

The top four guys are all locked into the depth chart. Considering how many receivers the Bills have on the roster I would be surprised if any of them saw many snaps with Josh Allen not playing. Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, and Gabriel Davis are all on this roster and have nothing to prove. Right behind them is Isaiah McKenzie who is not as much a lock but pretty darn close to one as he probably holds down the fifth spot because of his status as a returner and development as a receiver.

Buffalo likely is to bring six receivers on the roster and stash an additional one or two on the practice squad. The players fighting for those spots are guys like Jake Kumerow, Isaiah Hodgins, Duke Willimas, Tanner Gentry, Lance Lenior, Brandon Powell, and Marquez Stevenson. Look for all to get decent playing time on Friday with the chance to separate from the rest of the group and make a run at a roster spot.

The two players with an inside track for the sixth spot are Kumerow who returns to Buffalo after a short stint last year and Isaiah Hodgins last season sixth-round pick who missed the year due to injury. Hodgins had the better minicamp but Kumerow has had the better training camp of the two so far. Those are the two players to keep an extra eye on as they could play their way into a roster spot or maybe even a small role on the Buffalo Bills’ potent offense.
