Siran Neal (33) is one of two regulars on special teams that will be back with the Buffalo Bills this season, which creates plenty of competition for spots on the roster.ghows-NU-200719812-55204755.jpg /

Siran Neal

Years left on current contract: 1 year

Siran Neal has primarily been a defensive backup for the Buffalo Bills that has moved from safety to cornerback, particularly backing up Taron Johnson. He has also found a role when the Bills want to go a little bigger as a ‘big nickel.’

However, the area he has contributed the most is on special teams and is one of the big reasons the Buffalo Bills would consider an extension at this point. In his three seasons with the Bills, Neal has played 57% (2018), 58% (2019), and 62%(2020) of the special teams snaps.

If Siran Neal were to leave the team after this season, it certainly wouldn’t have the same impact as Tremaine Edmunds or Jerry Hughes. However, he is a critical part of this team and this is one deal that would seem to be an easy extension to get done that could strengthen the special teams unit while keeping the depth on the defense.
