Years left on current contract: 2 years

The most likely candidate, but possibly the toughest negotiation of the players on this list, is someone who was drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft alongside Josh Allen. The Bills selected Allen seventh overall and then selected linebacker Tremaine Edmunds about ten picks later at 16th overall.

Edmunds has been the Bills starting middle linebacker over the past three years, surpassing 100 total tackles each season and named to the Pro Bowl the past two years. He is only 23 years old and still has plenty of football ahead of him.

Similar to Allen, the Buffalo Bills did pick up his fifth-year option this season so he is under contract for at least the next two seasons. That is why it isn’t absolutely necessary to get a deal done and they could be waiting to see what he does this season before agreeing to something long-term.

Recently, Leslie Frazier did say he wants to see more impact plays from Tremaine Edmunds this season. If Edmunds does that, then his contract could cost the Bills more but they may feel more comfortable offering a substantial contract.
