Running Backs (5)

  • Zack Moss
  • Devin Singletary
  • Matt Breida
  • Taiwan Jones
  • Reggie Gilliam (FB)

Cut: Antonio Williams, Christian Wade

This could be the most predictable position group in Buffalo. Zack Moss and Devin Singletary are locked and will likely be a committee like last season. Matt Breida, an offseason signing, brings something that no other back has on the roster with elite speed so he should easily make the roster.

Lastly, Taiwan Jones is a lock because of his veteran status and elite special teams play. Jones one of the best gunners in the NFL likely will see little to no snaps on offense but is a huge part of what Buffalo does on special teams.

Reggie Gilliam will be a pleasant surprise to many. However, he does have a solid shot to make the team. First, he brings special teams play which we know Buffalo values a ton. Second, he moves back to fullback a position that Brian Daboll likes to be creative with. Third, the guy who everyone thought would be the reason Gilliam would be cut Tight End/H Back Jacob Hollister has had a back injury for most of training camp keeping him out.

Gilliam could sneak on the roster as a special teams contributor/fullback. Last season Buffalo kept him on as the fourth tight end so this year do not be surprised if the Bills carry three tight ends and Gilliam as a fullback. Expect Christian Wade and Antonio Williams to have a role on the practice squad.
