The Buffalo Bills offensive line is returning all their starters from last year but that didn’t stop them from adding more talent through free agency and the NFL Draft. In addition to free agent signings Forrest Lamp, Bobby Hart, and Jamil Douglas, they also drafted three players: Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle, and Jack Anderson.

The Bills have usually kept around 10 offensive linemen on their 53-man roster and based on the roster, nine of those spots seem locked in. The one position that looks to be up for grabs is the backup center spot which comes down to Ryan Bates and Jack Anderson.

Anderson was a seventh round pick by the Buffalo Bills this year and has experience at both guard and center. However, he may not be in a position to step in at starting center if the need were to arise and the Bills could value the experience Ryan Bates brings after spending the past few seasons with the team.

It is rare that the Buffalo Bills release draft picks as rookies but this season with a limited number of players that were undrafted free agents, the Bills used these late round picks to ensure they were able to add some of these players and not have to compete with the other teams. By keeping that in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising if the team was to release Anderson, or this next player, in the final days leading up to the season.
