3. Ryan Tannehill

The next quarterback is one that the Buffalo Bills all too well as Ryan Tannehill was the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins from 2012 to 2018. He didn’t develop into the franchise quarterback that they hoped and they traded him to the Titans prior to the 2019 season.

This is exactly what he needed as he made the Pro Bowl in 2019 and would follow that up with a statistically better season in 2020 with over 3,800 passing yards and a career-high 33 passing touchdowns.

The reason that Tannehill is third on this list is that he not only has proven to be an accurate quarterback who protects the football (he has thrown less than 10 interceptions the past three seasons), but he also has a number of playmakers around him now with A.J. Brown, Julio Jones, and Derrick Henry. It creates a challenge for defenses as they also need to account for Tannehill’s ability to scramble as he has had 11 rushing touchdowns the past two seasons.

He may not get the same recognition as some of the other quarterbacks on this list but Ryan Tannehill should make a strong case to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league this season.
