DL Mario Addison

Mario Addison is a product of the Carolina Panthers-Buffalo Bills pipeline. Addison spent time with Sean McDermott there and has since followed him north. However, Addison has not lived up to the massive contract that he was given. A 3 year, $30.4M deal that included $13.2 guaranteed at the signing wasn’t really met with production in 2020.

Addison started 7 out of the 15 games he played in, notching 30 tackles and 5 sacks. Of course, it was 2020 with COVID-19 rules and a limited offseason to learn the playbook. That could very much be the issue and he could bounce back in 2021.

Addison was chosen by PFF to have the worst contract for the Buffalo Bills, and unless production increases that will probably stay the same. There is a potential out from his contract at the end of this year as well. With Brandon Beane drafting two rookie defensive linemen, the writing may just be on the wall.
