The Buffalo Bills are coming off one of their best seasons in franchise history with 13 regular season wins, an AFC East division title, and a trip to the AFC Championship Game. While Josh Allen got most of the headlines, he certainly couldn’t have gotten there alone.

The reason the Bills had the success they did was because general manager Brandon Beane has put together one of the most complete rosters in the NFL. Marc Ross at NFL.com agrees and had the Buffalo Bills ranked fifth among the franchises he deemed the “most complete”.

Ross’ analysis is pretty spot-on as he notes the offense is the strength, led by MVP-candidate Josh Allen while the defense has room to improve, specifically on the defensive line. The biggest question on special teams is who replaces Andre Roberts, which is one of the bigger headlines entering training camp.

The Bills were behind the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Chargers. The two biggest surprises were certainly the Browns, who he listed as the most complete team, and the Chargers, who were fourth.

However, this is good company for the Buffalo Bills to be in as the Bucs and Chiefs had just represented their conferences in the Super Bowl. This is also the second year in the row that the Bills found themselves in a ranking on NFL.com ranking the most complete teams.

Last year, Adam Schein ranked the Bills sixth in his rankings so their performance last year was enough to move them up at least one spot.

The biggest takeaway from Marc Ross’ list is that the AFC is going to be tough this season as four of the five teams listed all play in the same conference. This will be one of the big reasons that home-field advantage through the playoffs is going to be critical next season.
