While there will be more additions over the next few months leading up to training camp, most of the Buffalo Bills roster is set. In free agency, the focus was to bring back their key players from last year and use the remaining salary cap to find value.

Then this past weekend during the NFL Draft they added eight players that bring depth to certain positions that helped complete the roster. When looking at where the Buffalo Bills roster stands now, these are the five best position groups when considering the starters but also the depth behind those players.

5. Running Backs

This first one may be a bit of a surprise as the lack of run game is well documented. However, the struggles may not fall entirely on the shoulders of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss as there are issues in terms of play-calling and blocking.

When looking at the position, there is without question talent there starting with the two running backs previously mentioned. These are two players who are young, Singletary is entering his third second while Moss is entering his second, and as it stands now they will likely be expected to handle most of the work.

After them is free agent addition Matt Breida, who is a home run threat in open space and can run away from the defense. It will be interesting to see how he is worked into the game plan as the team has typically operated with just two running backs.

The depth, while unproven, is intriguing and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a player like Antonio Williams make an impact this season. The undrafted free agent from last year showed he can play with his performance in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins. Then of course there is Christian Wade, who is a fan favorite, and will be interesting to see how he looks after a few years on the practice squad.
