Fifth Round, 161st Overall: Tommy Doyle, OT (Miami (OH))

For the second time in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select the same position with back to back picks. This time the Bills stay at offensive tackle and select Tommy Doyle out of Miami (OH). He is very similar to Spencer Brown in that he is a big offensive tackle but is incredibly athletic, not just for his size, but for the position in general.

The athleticism is on display when looking at his Relative Athletic Score of 9.9, which ranks 12th among 1,143 offensive tackles that have been rated since 1987.

The question now is where does he fit on this roster, this season as well as long term. The Bills could certainly use some depth and could envision either Spencer Brown or Tommy Doyle as the long-term answer at right tackle while the other player is the backup swing tackle.

While it is a little head-scratching to see a team draft the same position with consecutive picks, this is a situation that makes sense.
