The Buffalo Bills will enter Thursday night with the 30th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. If the Bills remain at that pick, it will be the latest they have ever picked in the first round.

However, as reports start to come out this week the fact that the Buffalo Bills will remain there is seeming less likely. According to Todd McShay, the Bills have been discussing trading up to select running back Travis Etienne. This is the first of five players that I believe they should target in the first round.

Travis Etienne

The Buffalo Bills and general manager Brandon Beane have talked about wanting a running back that brings something different to the position. He specifically mentioned a home run hitter, which is not something that Devin Singletary or Zack Moss necessarily bring to this offense.

This is something that Etienne certainly could bring to this offense and he had at least one carry every season over 70 yards. He had a career average of 7.2 yards per carry and 70 rushing touchdowns over the four seasons he was at Clemson.

He also would step in right away as the team’s best receiving back and another weapon for Josh Allen. The addition of Etienne would not only help the run game but I also believe would be a compliment to an already potent passing attack.

While it is certainly debatable about the value and if selecting Etienne in the first round, or trading up for him, is the best use of their picks, there is no question that the addition of him to this offense makes this group better.
