Round 2, 37th Overall: Ifeatu Melifonwu, CB (Syracuse)
In the second round, the Buffalo Bills stay on the defensive side of the ball with the selection of cornerback Ifeatu Melifonwu out of Syracuse. He is a big cornerback at 6’2″ and 212 pounds that should have no problem lining up against the bigger wide receivers in the NFL.
The second cornerback position has been a weakness over the years but a player like Melifonwu can bring some stability to the position. As the scouting report on The Draft Network notes for the Syracuse cornerback, he is a player that should excel in zone coverage. This is something the Bills like to use alot with their defense.
It also helps the depth at the position as it moves Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson a step down on the depth chart. While there is some question about if they are starters, there is no question they are excellent depth and can start for short periods of time if the need were to arise.
